Happenstance.
Actually, online. Looking back, It's surprising that despite being in St.Louis for more than 3 years we never ran into each other. We have been to almost all the common desi & non-desi events that took place in St.Louis but never at the same time. We do know quiet a few people in common but again, never mentioned to each other. Luckily both of us had our profiles setup on Shaadi.com and around March, 2005 I saw Aarti's profile and initiated the contact. I saw her for the first time at a ISKCON event in Mahathma Gandhi Center on April 2, 2005, where she was performing in a folk dance with her friends. We decided to meet up for lunch the next day and as it happened it was end of day light savings and I was an hour late for the lunch date.
One thing lead to another and 6 months later, I was down on my knee, trembling, asking her to marry me in the altar room of New Vrindhavan. No, nothing religious. I felt the place meant something special for her and I wanted it to be memorable.
After an year, here we are working out the wedding details and this site...
