We planned a trip to New Vrindavan, West Virginia and I thought it would be a great place to pop the question. We have been seeing each other for about 6 months and I had no doubt that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Aarti. I had to steal time here and there to hunt for an engagement ring, which proved to be quite a task. It's definitely not because of lack of options but quite the opposite. I took a gander and picked one from one of St.Louis' most popular diamond stores and it turned out to be a good choice. She loves it.

After we arrived in New Vrindavan, I was waiting for the right moment to ask Aarti to marry me but that day happened to be a festival; after what seemed an eternity, the temple services finally concluded giving me a window of opportunity to pop the question. We had the camera with us for the trip and I shoved it into someone's hand and he snapped couple of pics which turned out to be quite surreal.

It hit her like a ton of bricks...

It sure did!!

There I was, standing in front of the New Vrindavan altar, eyes wide open with shock, totally taken by surprise. It was truly a  memorable moment and Mallik really outdid himself, he couldn't have picked a better place to propose! Of course, I had no doubt in my mind he was the one for me and said "YES"!! :) We then enjoyed a delicious lunch at the temple and headed out to Pittsburgh.

That night, Mallik had arranged for a very special dinner at one of Pittsburgh's popular, elite restaurants atop Mt. Washington, that offers a panaromic view of the city's skyline. We enjoyed our first dinner as the "engaged couple" and then took a tram ride down the picturesque and historic Duquesne Inclines.

It was truly a day that we will remember for the rest of our lives....
